PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS

The Petronas Twin Tower is made from glass facade and steel making the building the tallest twin structure in the world. What adds to adventure here is the sky bridge built on the 41st floor and is about 170 meters above the ground. The towers were completed in 1998 and were designed by the Argentinian designer César Pelli. Initially, they were designed as the headquarters of national oil and gas company Petronas. The building in all has 88 floors and is surrounded by wonderful structures evincing the beauty of the city on the whole. It was considered the tallest building of the world until 2004 when another building was constructed in another country. The steel towers are called the twin jewels and certainly, a must-visit when in Malaysia.

The lush greenery around the Petronas Towers, the 50-acre KLCC Park soon became a tourist attraction for the manmade Lake Symphony that lies within. Once here, you can gaze at the water fountains that showcase unique water shows regularly. Apart from this there are reflecting pools, waterfalls, over 1900 indigenous trees, a long walking track, a children’s playground and sculptures to look forward to. Definitely a great attraction for you and your loved ones.

KUALA LUMPUR TOWER

Kuala Lumpur Tower is the seventh tallest telecommunication tower in the world. The apex end of the tower consists of an antenna that touches a height of 1,381 feet. The rest of the tower is connected via a stairwell and an elevator. It encompasses interesting spaces such as the 276 meters high indoor KL Tower Observation Deck, the KL Tower Sky Box which is a glass-enclosed cube that is extended in the air, a mini zoo that nurtures a wide range of exotic animals for the visitors to feed and pet them and to keep the tourists entertained. The observation deck is one of the tallest skyscrapers in Malaysia to witness the entire cityscape of Kuala Lumpur. It also comprises of a revolving restaurant alongside the telecommunication and broadcasting stations. The tower was constructed in the year 1995 and since then it has been a major among the tourists as well as the locals.

KUALA LUMPUR BIRD PARK

An eco-tourism trip to the Kuala Lumpur Birk Park is the best way to get an insight and enjoy the abundant birdlife of Malaysia with about 3000 birds of more than 300 different species. AQUARIA KLCC

It would be wise to visit Aquaria KLCC Kuala Lumpur when you reach Kuala Lumpur City Center. It is one of the places where you experience witnessing aquatic animals in their natural habitat. Besides, since you have come to KLCC to enjoy the view from the twin towers, why not visit this amazing place that is in close proximity. It is located beneath the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center and is sprawled in areas of 60,000 sq feet. This expedition to the underwater creatures will dazzle you as you will be toe to toe with them. This walk in the tunnel will familiarize you with numerous species of fishes, sharks, stingrays, turtles and a lot more. You also get an opportunity to interact with some of the sea creatures, such as starfish and sea cucumbers. The Gene Pool has been designed for this purpose. KL UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE

Kuala Lumpur Upside Down House at KL Tower is the tallest of its kind in the Malaysian capital, featuring a traditional two-storey English cottage, complete with furniture and home décor that are, as the name implies, completely upside down. Located outside the iconic tower, it’s also within walking distances of family-friendly attractions along Jalan P. Ramlee. The main entrance offers unique photo opportunities, as there’s a bright yellow (and upside down) antique car looming above its visitors. Kuala Lumpur Upside Down House is also surrounded by an upside down garden, housing colorful artificial flowers, grass, and trees, as well as gazebos overlooking KL City Centre.

PAVILION KUALA LUMPUR

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is KL’s haute couture shopping Mecca. It takes a lot to stand out in the city’s mallscape but this shopping centre, which occupies prime real estate along Jalan Bukit Bintang, does just that. Opened in 2007 it has three major sections – a retail mall, an office block, and two residential towers. Keeping the city’s fashionistas looking polished, this KL staple is the perfect example of how extravagant some malls can be.

SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING & DATARAN MERDEKA

Set in the Merdeka Square of KL, Sultan Abdul Samad Building was built in 1897, in early Moorish-style architecture. Constructed entirely in brick, the historic landmark was named after the ruling sultan in that era, and was once home to the Ministry of Information, Communications, and Culture. It continues to remain a major tourist attraction for the gothic and western influences that are visible in the design style. The 41m high clock tower is what people admire the most at this point. Kuala Lumpur’s Merdeka Square is a giant field with dense green lawns and the Malaysian Flag hoisted high right in the centre. The Merdeka Square was once famous for being the Selangor Club cricket pitch and went on to become the venue for the annual Merdeka Parade.

THE NATIONAL MONUMENT

This 15m high bronze statue is a tribute to those who died fighting World War I. There's a beautiful structure of seven soldiers supporting the fallen brave hearts, which is a noteworthy moment in their history. Each of the seven soldiers depicts a quality of strength, sacrifice, suffering, courage, leadership, vigilance and unity. Surrounding the National Monument are fountains and lilies, and next to it is the ASEAN Sculpture Garden, which houses abstract art pieces made of wood, marble and bamboo by neighbouring ASEAN countries.

MALAYSIA NATIONAL MOSQUE

Known to be one of the most popular places to visit in Kuala Lumpur, an architectural marvel, the National Mosque is spread across 13 acres and has a main prayer hall with 48 mini domes around it. The hall’s walls are intricately decorated with verses from the Quran and can accommodate up to 15,000 people at a time. The main dome has 18-points representing Malaysia’s 13-states and the five pillars of Islam, and can accommodate up to 8000 devotees. The highlight though is the 73m-high minaret, the beautiful gardens, marble pools, fountains and the vivid tiles that brighten up the structure.

SUNWAY PUTRA SHOPPING MALL

The complex, known as "The Mall" at that time, was built by Metroplex Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (MHSB) and opened on 12 June 1987 by Mahathir bin Mohamad, the fourth prime minister at the time (which is now current), who personally buried a time capsule that will be unearthed after a century, in 2087. The capsule contains a message written by Mahathir and is addressed to the citizens of the future. At the time, The Mall was the largest shopping centre in Malaysia and was built to attract more shoppers from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. It was built at a cost of RM289 million and it was launched by a light show. The complex once had Malaysia's first Yaohan store which operated from the mall's opening in 1987 until 1997 before its bankruptcy in Japan.

JAMEK MOSQUE

Among the noteworthy places to visit in KL with your family is the Jamek Mosque which is the oldest place of worship in KL. It offers a breath-taking view of the Klang River lying beyond it and the Mughal and Moorish architectural style to are worth laying your eyes on. Surrounding the main prayer hall are three domes and two brick minarets. There is also an Islamic Experience Centre outside the mosque which is worth a visit if you are keen on learning a thing or two about Islamic culture.

SOGO KUALA LUMPUR

Sogo Shopping Mall Kuala Lumpur, set along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, is one of the oldest shopping venues in Kuala Lumpur city centre. It's home to a massive department store that sells relatively affordable brands for anything from kitchenware, gadgets and home décor to handbags, shoes, and clothes.

PETROSAINS KLCC

Petrosains, also known as Petrosains, The Discovery Centre is a Malaysian science and technology museum located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur within Suria KLCC, Petronas Twin Towers. Petrosains was a brainchild of 4th Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and established on 25 March 1999. It is owned and operated by Petrosains Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysian oil and gas conglomerate Petronas. Tengku Nasariah Tengku Syed Ibrahim is the CEO of Petrosains until 2018. The current CEO of Petrosains is Fatimah Fedora Zulkifli.

NATIONAL PLANETARIUM

The National Planetarium (Planetarium Negara KL) is dedicated to all things related to science and astronomy. It’s a fun and educational place for kids to learn about the planet and the universe. Set on a hill to the east of Lake Gardens, it is topped by a blue dome easily visible from nearby roads. It may not be an as high tech as the planetariums of New York or London standards, but it still merits a visit. The main entrance is evocative of a teleport chamber which leads into a series of halls containing two planetariums that have interactive exhibits (touch-screen interactive computers and hands-on experiments) plus a Space Theatre.

NATIONAL MUSEUM

The National Museum (Malay: Muzium Negara) is a museum located on Jalan Damansara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The museum is situated in close proximity to the Perdana Lake Gardens and it provides an overview of Malaysian history and culture. Its facade comprises elements of traditional Malay and modern features. It was opened on 31 August 1963, and it serves as a repository of Malaysia's rich cultural and historical heritage.
